Yes, it's true.

Our people are fond of french cinematography. Luc Besson is very popular in our country. We have a lot of fans of 'Taxie', '5th element'... Most of films in cinemas are not russian and it's good for foreign cinematography. We haven't got our new films for kids so we must say to foreign directors "Thank you!".


Do you Know something about russian films?

yeah, I know "Night Watch" (Nochnoi Dozor) and... that's all !!

In fact I now old russian movies like "L'enfance d'Ivan" ( Ivanovo detstvo ), and movies by Andrei Tarkovski (for example "Le Miroir" (Zerkalo) or "Stalker"), maybe like cinema amateurs in russia now Godart's movies.

I have seen the begining of Le Retour (maybe "the return", I haven't found the russian title, it's seems to be about two brothers who found our father), but russian cinema it isn't well at all in France (but other cinema aren't knew too ! Expect Hollywood of course !).

Now one of our favourite films is "Arthur et les minimoys" (We can't imagine why americans translate it like "the Invisibles", but it is not the question for this topic) We want to watch this film in french version, we think it would intersesting to listen to the voises of the french actors.

P.S. And what about "Day Watch" (Dnevnoi Dozor)?
P.P.S. The russian title of "the return" sounds like "Vozvrashenie"

Day Watch will be release in france soon I think, but there is no "buzz" like for the first one. For Night Watch many journalist make papers about this russian movie. They presented Night Watch like the new russian cinema which could fight hollywood on his own territory But Night Watch doesn't work as well as they think, so, now they forgotten a little this hope.

In fact, we want to discuss the film that is mentioned in title of the topic. We saw it and read books, so we want to communicate with other fans.

It will be great to discover another culture We'll can talk about russian movies for example, which are very different of french movies!
